Requirements

The system and access requirements for collecting data depend on the platforms you're scanning. Each target has its own prerequisites: credentials, network access, and supported versions.

System & access requirements¶

Full per-platform requirements are documented under DMC:

VMware

vCenter read-only access and prerequisites.

Hyper-V

Hypervisor fabric access requirements.

Nutanix

Nutanix discovery prerequisites.

Physical

Bare-metal server requirements.

MS SQL

SQL Server discovery permissions.

A good rule of thumb: DMC always uses read-only access, and connectivity is outbound only (HTTPS 443) with no inbound firewall rules. See Networking & Access for detail.

For Marketplace deployments and Azure Migrate integration, review the supported subscription types.
